Logs perfromance data to a file, SQL database or the console

Usage Guide

typeperf takes one or many performance counters as parameters and logs their data to the console, SQL database or a log file. It supports these parameters:

  • -f - File format: CSV / TSV / BIN / SQL
  • -cf - Name of a config file that holds the counters to be monitored
  • -si - Sample interval
  • -o - Log file or SQL database connection
  • -q - Returns a list of all counters installed on the machine
  • -qx - Returns the counter list plus instances
  • -sc - Sets the number of samples to collect. If not set the logging will run until interrupted by Ctrl+C
  • -config - Name of a config file that contains command parameters to use
  • -s - Remote computer name
