Overview

Reports the network route used to connect to an endpoint

Usage Guide

tracert reports the network route taken to an endpoint and the hostnames or IP addresses of the sender-side interfaces of detected routers. The basic syntax is:
tracert my_target_computername_or_ip_adderss
Other parameters

  • -d - Do not attempt to resolve router hostnames
  • -h - Maximum hops
  • -j - Use the Loose Source Route option in headers to specified routers
  • -w - timeout
  • -R - Use the IPv6 extension header to test the reverse route
  • -S - Specifies the IPv6 Source Address header value
  • -4 - Use only IPv4
  • -6 - Use only IPv6
