dfsutil is a command line tool that queries and configures DFS.

Usage Guide

dfsutil can query and configure:

  • Namespaces
  • Folders
  • Folder targets
  • Registry keys
  • Client caches
It can also run diagnostics.

The tool uses multiple levels of parameters to issue instructions. The following are the top level parameters. Run them with a /? to find the next level of instructions, eg
dfsutil root /?

  • root - Queries and configures namespace roots.
  • link - Queries and configures folders.
  • target - Queries and configures folder targets.
  • property - Displays and modifies a folder target or namespace server.
  • client - Displays and modifies client information or registry keys.
  • server - Displays and modifies namespace configuration.
  • diag - Runs diagnostics, and view dfsdirs or dfspath.
  • domain - Displays all domain bases namespaces in a domain.
  • cache - Displays or flushes the client cache.
